I didn’t realize it at the time, but that first stroopwafel I tasted on the streets of Europe in 2003 would change the course of my life. Cirkels (pronounced "circles") is the result of a years-long attempt to recreate the delicious Dutch street food.
Unable to get the craving out of my mind and ingesting countless stale imports, my decade-long obsession eventually made me realize that, to get the freshest and simplest version of a stroopwafel, we’d need to make it ourselves. My sister-in-law, Heather, and I spent over a year researching, experimenting and taste-testing batch after batch after batch to finally get the simplest, best recipe we’d ever tasted.
Eet Smakelijk!
I've had plenty of stroopwafels in Europe and I've tried a few here but wasn't impressed until I tried the Cirkels. Wow! They taste just like they do in Europe and have that perfect mix of sweet and chewy.
Just finishing off the work day with some Cirkels. They're not just a mood booster, they're life-changing.
